A Poem about the Little Mouse Series

LISTEN TO THE FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW
(an excerpt from Thoughts to Ponder)

One winter--sometime ago--Little Mouse and I took a walk
in the snow. Here's what my footprints let us know:

Whether you and I believe we are a gift from God or
some other source, we came from something of course.

It's up to us to decide if we were born for good or bad,
but doing good--for sure--turns out better than bad.

Looking at the outcomes of the two,
I'll put my money on good.  How about you?

For beauty, harmony, and peace within and out
can only evolve from virtuous bouts.

It's a fact that we were gifted the tools we need
to become whomever we were born to be.

So however our life will eventually turn out
we can take a lot of credit for what came about.

And since happiness is an inner spirit that money, fame, and power can't buy,
it's neat that we've been given the willpower to developed it inside.

That's why it's important to seek out TRY (The Real You) inside
for that's where the secret really lies.

For within each of us is our diamond in the rough
to shape and smooth into a Brilliant Cut.

With the right kind of knowledge, conation, balance, and gifts,
we'll be able to reflect ordinary white light into a fiery, brilliant rainbow-glitz.
 
How much time will it take to shape The Real You is not as
important as the trying and striving we do.

For it is in the striving and trying to be the best we can be
that we eventually get the most utility.

And--as I've already said-- it is in GOODNESS that beauty, harmony, and
peace evolves and surprisingly enough it is within us all.

So next time you walk in the quiet snow, your footprints
might uncover what's inside of you to know.
