NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
Little Mouse and the author strongly recommend the Little Mouse the Mouse series for pre-teens, teens, young adults and older folks too. The concepts and thoughts provided in this series provide an excellent opportunity to engage children in dialogue about the intellectual and moral virtues that have stood the test of time in attaining a meaningful, productive, and satisfying life.
These books are highly recommended to teachers as excellent instructional tools. Classroom teachers will find this series outstanding to read aloud and enter into rich conversations with their students.
The Adventures of Little Mouse addresses good character, civility, perseverance, cooperation, the utilization of the scientific method to solve and explore day to day challenges and problems, and other strategies that can remove roadblocks that can get in the way of living a good life. In addition, the reader and listeners are invited to engage in several hands-on lever experiments. In fact, once they use the lever to lift an adult with one or two fingers, they are then ready for the second book. For, this sequel uniquely introduces how a first-class lever can help anyone become the best they were meant to be.
Furthermore, I believe the first book should be introduced at age ten or later.
The Legacy of Little Mouse the Mouse presents the model that Little Mouse invented, to encourage everyone to seek out their innate gifts and to develop them into the special persons they were born to be. With the guidance of an adult, the story will allow both the adult to pick and choose---thanks to the book's Index---those specific virtues and values of interest. A great book to get twelve-year-olds thinking about their personal responsibilities to themselves and society. Also, check out the three supplemental booklets: templates for posters, templates for charts, and the coloring activities booklet.
Furthermore, I believe the second book should be introduced at age twelve or later and used as a reference thereafter. Such an approach will give a child a heads-up in thinking about his or her future.
I most sincerely believe that the books could be used most effectively with high school students and adults interested in walking the path of personal and public success. Some may even wish to refer to the model and its activities during their adulthood years. Leverage, support, and the wholesome green zone is the key to personal and public success at any age.
Thank you.
Jim
